MORE THAN 4,000 PARTICIPANTS EXPECTED FOR SMART CITIES SUMMIT IN ALGIERS JUNE 27-28

ALGIERS, More than 4,000 Algerian and and international participants from the the fields of modern technology and start-ups as well as leaders in investment in intelligent cities will be be taking part in the 2018 Smart Cities Global Technology and Investment Summit to be held here on June 27 and 28.

The conference, which will focus on new technologies and investment strategies for the sector will be addressed by more than 150 international speakers. The 4,000 participants will include officials of major companies, said the counselor at Algiers province and head of the Algiers Smarty-City and Start-ups investment project, Fatiha Slimani, on Sunday.

The summit’s main objective is to encourage the implementation of international partnerships and the exchange of knowledge in terms of development of sustainable cities and investment as part of high technologies, added Slimani, who stressed that the meeting would be an opportunity to present the latest advances in technology and investment strategy.

The summit will also allow for the co-ordination among the different experts and the attractions of the Algerian diaspora in order to transfer their expertise and know-how.

Mayors of large cities, Cabinet ministers, leaders in the investment of intelligent cities, leaders of the sectors of telecommunication, technologies, infrastructures, finance, energy, security and others will take part in this summit to share their experiences in the field of the design of smart cities.
