MoL is committed to protecting temporary contractual workers’ rights

Posted on July 18, 2012 by Web Desk

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Labour is committed to implementing instructions of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to respect and protect rights of temporary contractual workers through application of supervisory and regulatory policies and legislations so as to maintain a balanced relationship between employers and workers,” Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, Ministry of Labour Undersecretary, said today.

The UAE labour official made his remarks during a meeting today with visiting Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Transport in Nepal Som Lal Subedi, which discussed conditions of Nepalese workers in the UAE.

The Nepalese official lauded UAE labour market as attractive to Nepalese workers given the sound legislations that protect their rights and keep them away from troubles that Nepalese workers were facing in other labour markets.
