Ministry of National Guard and SDAIA Unveil Biometric Data Track in Regulatory Sandbox

Riyadh: The Ministry of National Guard and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), with the attendance of Minister of National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, have launched a specialized sub-track for biometric data within the Data Regulatory Sandbox at the Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit. This initiative is a collaborative effort aimed at fostering innovation in biometric data and enhancing regulatory practices and frameworks.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the biometric data track is designed as a specialized sub-track within the Data Regulatory Sandbox, focusing on innovative products and services that process biometric data. These products and services will undergo testing within the sandbox's main tracks based on their scope and relevant regulatory requirements. This approach allows for the examination of regulatory challenges associated with biometric data and the assessment of appropriate governance practices.
