Bangkok: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance is set to host the third international conference for ASEAN countries on January 25 and 26 in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference will be chaired by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh and will feature participation from numerous ministers, muftis, university presidents, centers, and Islamic societies, alongside religious and cultural leaders from the ASEAN region.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this year's conference aims to elucidate the sources of national goodness and its expansive contributions to humanity, advocating for peace, justice, and the proliferation of goodness. It also seeks to underscore Islamic institutions' efforts in fostering stronger ties between these institutions and influential figures to realize this objective.
During the event, panel discussions will cover topics such as following the examples of past righteous leaders, the basics of the Prophet's companions' approach, Saudi Arabia's stance on moderation, and strategies to combat extremism and radicalism. These discussions will be crucial in addressing contemporary challenges faced by Islamic communities in ASEAN countries and beyond.
