Jeddah: Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Al Alsheikh received Chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation Chief Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin and his accompanying delegation, who are currently visiting the Kingdom, in his office today.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting focused on several topics of mutual interest, particularly the strengthening of cooperation in serving Muslims in the Russian Federation and supporting joint efforts to promote the values of moderation and tolerance. Al Alsheikh emphasized that the meeting reflects the Kingdom’s commitment, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhancing cooperation with Islamic institutions worldwide. He reiterated the Kingdom’s dedication to supporting initiatives that uphold moderation and foster tolerance to serve Muslim communities globally.
Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for their efforts in serving Islam and Muslims, especially their support for Muslim minorities worldwide. He noted the strengthening religious ties between Russia and the Kingdom, which continue to benefit Muslims in Russia.
Sheikh Gainutdin also praised the role of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing bilateral relations. He highlighted recent facilitations, including the visa waiver and the increase in the number of Russian pilgrims, as indicators of the deep mutual trust between the two nations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the minister presented a deluxe copy of the Holy Quran to the Russian official.
