Minister of Islamic Affairs Meets Delegations from Singapore, Laos, Myanmar

Bangkok: Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh held meetings yesterday in Bangkok with several delegations participating in the 3rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) International Conference "Khair Ummah," organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meetings included the delegation from Singapore, led by Minister for Social and Family Development Masagos Zulkifli. Also in attendance was the Laotian delegation, headed by Islamic Organization president Somboune Khan. Representing Myanmar was Bareq Institute for Arabic Language director and Muslim World League (MWL) Supreme Council member Dr. Asad bin Ismail.

The delegation leaders commended Saudi Arabia's significant efforts in promoting moderate Islam, countering extremism, and combating hatred. They highlighted that hosting the conference reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to empowering Islamic leadership in spreading awareness about the importance of correct beliefs and resisting extremist ideologies.

The meetings also addressed several topics of mutual interest, particularly concerning Islamic affairs.
