Minister of Health Strengthens Health Cooperation with Sweden

Stockholm: Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel concluded an official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden aimed at strengthening health cooperation and enhancing bilateral relations in the fields of health innovation and investment. During the visit, the health minister met with Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Stenergard and Minister of Health and Social Affairs Elisabet Lann. The meetings discussed avenues of cooperation in global health, digital health and virtual care, sustainable care models, preventive capabilities, and the integration of advanced technologies to support health systems.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the minister witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Karolinska Institutet to enhance research collaboration and exchange expertise. The visit further contributed to strengthening engagement with the private sector through discussions with AstraZeneca and Elekta on cooperation in advanced treatments, precision medicine, and cutting-edge radiotherapy technologies.

The visit reflects the Kingdom's commitment to deepening international cooperation and promoting innovative healthcare solutions in support of the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives, aimed at building a more efficient, sustainable, and innovative healthcare system.
