Minister of Energy Signs Agreement with Kazakhstan to Establish Coordination Council

Riyadh: Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Yerlan Akkenzhenov. The meeting took place within the framework of establishing the Saudi-Kazakh Coordination Council, which is chaired on the Saudi side by the Minister of Energy and on the Kazakh side by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, reflecting the two countries' commitment to strengthening cooperation and expanding the horizons of bilateral partnership.

According to Saudi Press Agency, following the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed an agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to establish the Saudi-Kazakh Coordination Council, in the presence of the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan. The Council aims to enhance coordination and consultation between the two countries and to develop frameworks for cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest, thereby contributing to elevating bilateral relations to broader levels.

During the meeting, relations between the two countries and ways to develop them were discussed, particularly in the field of energy, as well as enhancing opportunities for cooperation and investment in renewable energy and energy storage systems. At the conclusion of the meeting, developments in the oil market were also reviewed within the framework of ongoing consultation between the two countries in the energy sector.
