Jeddah: Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan on Wednesday opened the 13th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jeddah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference is being hosted by the Kingdom in cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO). In his opening speech, Prince Badr emphasized the Kingdom's pride in presiding over the 13th session of the conference, which aims to strengthen collective work and cooperation in empowering culture as one of the key pillars in achieving social and economic development.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia acknowledges the importance of culture as a fundamental foundation in building communities, enhancing national identity, and driving economic and social growth. Based on this, the Kingdom supports the efforts of the organization to empower intellectuals and writers from Islamic countries by enhancing their participation in various cultural events, conferences, and research projects within the Kingdom, the prince stated.
The Kingdom assumed the presidency of the 13th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World for the year 2025.
