Health minister receives 2nd dose of Chinese-made COVID-19 vaccine

Health and Population Minister Hala Zayed received Monday Oct 19, the second dose of a Chinese-made coronavirus vaccine during the phase 3 clinical trials taking place in Egypt in tandem with many other countries.

Zayed was injected by the vaccine at the Egyptian Holding Company for Biopharmaceuticals and Vaccines (Vacsera), according to a statement by Ministry’s Spokesman Khaled Megahed.

The first dose was administered to her on September 28.

Over 3,000 volunteers have so far taken part in the vaccine trials.

Thanking all the volunteers participating in the clinical trials in its third phase, Zayed urged citizens to volunteer for the sake of humanity.

She noted that as many as 42,000 volunteers had taken part in such trials worldwide, and none of them showed any side effects.

The trial is being carried out in Egypt in cooperation with the Chinese government and the UAE’s G42 Healthcare.
