Manga Productions Impresses Global Audiences with Anime and Saudi Culture at AnimeJapan 2026

Tokyo: Manga Productions, a subsidiary of Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk), participated in AnimeJapan 2026, held in Tokyo, Japan, from March 28 to 31 at Tokyo Big Sight. This event is one of the world's prominent gatherings dedicated to the anime and creative entertainment industry, attracting over 150,000 visitors globally.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the participation of Manga Productions saw visits from notable figures such as Japan's Minister of State Onoda Kimi and Member of the Japanese Parliament Ken Akamatsu, among others. Discussions during these visits focused on the role of creative content in cultural exchange and the company's efforts in empowering talent and fostering partnerships between Saudi Arabia and Japan.

This year marked Manga Productions' second consecutive year as an official sponsor of the event, underscoring the company's commitment to enhancing the presence of Saudi companies in the anime industry. Throughout the four-day exhibition, Manga Productions participated in both Public Days and Business Days, presenting an interactive booth that merged entertainment with Saudi cultural experiences.

The booth offered a variety of cultural and interactive activities that reflected Saudi identity, including a Saudi Lounge, traditional attire photo opportunities, Arabic calligraphy, and interactive games. The company's participation garnered positive engagement on social media and significant coverage from major Japanese media outlets.

Additionally, Dr. Essam Bukhary, CEO of Manga Productions, took part in a business seminar at the event. He delivered a session titled: 'From Emerging Market to Strategic Partner: The Middle East Shaping the Future of Anime,' which discussed the Middle East's growing role in the anime industry and opportunities for collaboration with Japanese companies.

Moreover, Abdulaziz Almowani, Director of Marketing and Communications at Manga Productions, emphasized the company's dedication to promoting Saudi content on a global scale and building strategic partnerships within the anime industry.
