Islamabad: Pilgrims from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan continue to benefit from the Makkah Route Initiative's luggage sorting and coding service at Islamabad International Airport, which enables their bags to be delivered directly to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah in line with prearranged transportation and lodging plans in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the coding process, overseen by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and conducted by a specialized team, involves sorting the luggage and attaching labels that include flight information, the pilgrims' personal details, and their accommodation data. A matching label is affixed to the pilgrim's passport cover, and the pilgrim is issued a card containing the same details for reference.
This service eliminates the need for baggage procedures upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah or Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, allowing pilgrims to proceed directly to their accommodations and devote their full attention to their spiritual journey.
