Makkah Region Governor Patronizes Opening Ceremony of Saudi Industry Forum in Jeddah

Riyadh: Under the patronage of Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz inaugurated the second edition of the Saudi Industry Forum (SIF 2026) in Jeddah.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the opening ceremony was attended by Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, along with numerous industry ecosystem leaders and local and international investors. Chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers Abdullah Kamel delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting the growth in the Kingdom's industrial sector. He noted that the number of industrial establishments has risen from 7,000 at the launch of Saudi Vision 2030 to over 13,000 today, encompassing various economic activities, including new sectors like military industries.

Kamel emphasized the strategic partnership between the Federation of Saudi Chambers and government entities to achieve national and international industrial targets. He reaffirmed the federation's commitment to supporting investors in Saudi Arabia's industrial sector as part of the Kingdom's broader economic objectives.

On the sidelines of the forum, 30 agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed. These agreements aim to foster sustainable industrial development and promote the localization of technologies and emerging industries in Saudi Arabia.

The first day of SIF 2026, organized by the federation in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, included several panel discussions. Key topics were the partnership between the federation and the industrial ecosystem, the future of food industries in the Kingdom, investment opportunities in the Makkah Region, and the industrial empowerment ecosystem along with its initiatives.
