Makkah: Grand Mosque Imam Sheikh Bandar Balila emphasized in his Friday sermon today that true joy for a believer is rooted in the divine grace and guidance that enables acts of worship and spiritual closeness to Allah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Sheikh Balila contrasted this praiseworthy joy with arrogant or heedless pride, calling on Muslims to embrace the sweetness of repentance and the profound happiness found in completing the fast and meeting their Lord with righteous deeds.
Concluding his address, Sheikh Balila urged the faithful to express gratitude for the seasons of worship by remaining steadfast on the path of piety. He encouraged the Sunnah of fasting the six days of Shawwal as a sign of accepted worship and a means to maintain a continuous connection with Allah.
