Jeddah: The first edition of the "MADE." design forum, organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, has commenced in Jeddah at the Western Hajj Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport. This event marks a significant step in celebrating design-led creativity through a carefully curated marketplace and engaging programming over the course of four days.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the forum brings together independent designers and artists from the Arab region and beyond. It provides a platform for participants to discover, acquire, and discuss unique objects and the innovative ideas behind them. The event features lectures, workshops, and dialogue sessions, encouraging exploration into the intricacies of design in relation to values and ethical practices. Participants are prompted to consider the nature of innovation, the impact of crafts on identity, and the role of designers as cultural actors in a transformative era.
The exhibition is a reflection of the Diriyah Biennale Foundation's vision to champion creative expression in all its forms. It aims to reinforce Saudi Arabia's position as a cultural hub that thrives on dialogue, embraces creative individuals, and shares beauty with the world through an authentic Saudi voice and a universal spirit.
