Madbouli follows up preparations for annul meeting of IsDB

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli followed up preparations for the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) of 2022 due in Sharm el Sheikh on June 1-4 .

The meeting was attended by Planning Minister Hala el Saeed, who reviewed a report on the activities of the bank and the volume of its investments.

The IsDB aims at supporting economic and social development in its member states and the Islamic communities in the non member states via capital contributions to projects, she said.

Saeed reviewed Egypt’s contribution to the capital of the IsDB, adding that Egypt is one of the founding countries of the bank.

Hosting these meetings represents an opportunity to support Egypt’s regional and international pioneering role to be up to the volume of its contributions at the bank.

The Boards of Governors and the General Assemblies of the IsDB Group members hold their Annual Meetings to discuss development issues and institutional matters.

The theme of this year’s annual meeting will be “Beyond Recovery: Resilience and Sustainability”. The iconic Private Sector Forum, an opportunity for networking and establishing business relationships and partnerships, is also held in conjunction with the annual meetings.

The Annual Meeting, along with its large array of events and functions taking place on the sidelines over the four-day period, attracts a vast number of representatives from regional and international financial and development institutions, business leaders and the wider community. The event, which offers an ideal platform for decision-makers to discuss challenges and explore opportunities in member countries, typically attracts an audience in excess of 2,000 participants across the various functions.
