Riyadh: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Libya's Government of National Unity strongly condemned the terrorist Houthi militia's attempted UAV attack on Makkah. It rejected any attempt to target the Qiblah of Muslims or to violate the sanctity and religious standing of the holy sites.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement issued Wednesday and carried by the Libyan News Agency (LANA), the ministry said Libya stands with Saudi Arabia and supports all measures taken to protect the Two Holy Mosques, safeguard the Kingdom's security and stability, and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.
The ministry called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities by taking the steps needed to uphold international peace and security, respect the sanctity of the holy sites, and prevent any recurrence of such acts, which threaten regional security and stability.
