Riyadh: The Libraries Commission received United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nahid Hussein, during her visit to the Cultural House in Riyadh, where she reviewed its experience as a modern cultural and knowledge model reflecting the Kingdom's directions in enhancing access to knowledge, developing community participation, and advancing the role of public libraries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the visit included an introductory tour of the Cultural House facilities, during which key cultural and knowledge services and programs were showcased, along with interactive spaces that combine reading, learning, and cultural activities, supporting cultural activity and enhancing quality of life.
The UNDP resident representative praised the role of the Libraries Commission in developing the public libraries ecosystem and the Cultural House as an integrated model that reflects investment in people and knowledge and supports the Sustainable Development Goals by empowering individuals and expanding learning horizons.
The visit comes within the framework of boosting cooperation and exchanging expertise with international organizations and reviewing leading national experiences in the cultural and knowledge field, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives to build a prosperous knowledge-based society.
