AMMAN, Nov 25 (NNN-Petra) –– Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour Tuesday met lawmakers from Zarqa, the president of the Hashemite University and the director of the Zarqa Government Hospital to discuss better health services in the governorate.

During the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s office, the lawmakers presented a number of demands to upgrade Zarqa health services and increase cooperation between the Hashemite University and the Zarqa Government Hospital “in a manner to improve healthcare and medical services to the public and ensure speedy implementation”.

Ensour said the government will look into procedures to turn the Zarqa Government Hospital into a university education facility and that Hashemite University doctors offer training and education to the Zarqa Government Hospital staff besides their role at the Prince Hamza Hospital in Amman.

Emphasis was put on “fairly” discussing the demands of the doctors of the Hashemite University’s Faculty of Medicine and to look into the prospect of allotting a plot of land near the Zarqa Government Hospital to build a new faculty of medicine.
