JORDAN KING CALLS FOR INCREASED INTERNATIONAL AID TO SUPPORT SYRIAN REFUGEES

AMMAN, Nov 30 (NNN-PETRA) — King Abdullah II of Jordan has called on the international community to help Jordan so that it can better serve Syrian refugees in the Kingdom.

The Jordanian monarch told a Canadian ministerial delegation that his country now hosts some 1.4 million Syrian refugees.

Jordan has recently asked for three billion U.S. dollars, with which it is able to provide services to Syrian refugees over the next few years.

Earlier last month, Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour said Jordan supports a political solution to end the crisis in Syria, adding that the majority of Syrian refugees are likely to remain in neighboring countries until Syria is rebuilt and security restored. — NNN-PETRA
