Kuwait embassy cautions nationals in US against suspicious contacts

Kuwait Embassy in Washington called on its nationals living in the United States to be wary of dealing with contacts via phone or emails from suspicious persons who might disguise as representatives of its consular section.

Suspicious messages from such persons might contain requests for paying sums of money to the US Department of Higher Education for the enrolment of student or other educational services, the embassy warned in a statement on Thursday.

The Embassy does never contact Kuwaiti national, whether by phone or email, to charge any money whatsoever, the statement made clear.

The Kuwaiti national are advised to ignore such contacts or messages and never pay any money and inform the Embassy’s consular section of any suspicious contacts.

They are also advised not to share any official information, such as photos of their passports, IDs, or academic certificates, with suspicious persons, the statement added
