Kuwait-based informatics award promotes tech boom – recipients

A Kuwait-based Informatics award is instrumental in pushing forward technology adoption plans and methods, the winners of the award agreed on Wednesday, hailing the initiative as an effort to accelerate a national digital drive. The award is a testament to Kuwait’s determination to adopt tech-savvy methods, one of the winners of the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics award, Google Cloud vice president Vinton Gray Cerf told KUNA.

The recipients of the Kuwaiti award, all of whom hail from the region and beyond, have all made contributions in one way or another towards technological and digital growth, according to the award’s chief organizer Bassam Al-Shemmari.

The winners were feted in a ceremony sponsored by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and attended by his representative His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, earlier on Wednesday.
