KSrelief’s Emergency Cholera Response Project in Yemen Serves 14,336 Beneficiaries

General

Riyadh: The Emergency Cholera Response Project in Yemen, supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), provided services to 14,336 individuals from February 25 to March 3, 2026.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project, which aims to combat cholera in Yemen, delivered a range of medical services during this period, including comprehensive screenings at airports in Aden, Seiyun, and Al Rayyan, as well as at the Al Wadiah, Al Hafiyah, and Razih border crossings, where a total of 28 suspected cases were identified.

The initiative targets the areas most affected by the epidemic and seeks to reduce infection rates and limit the spread of cholera through preventive measures. These include deploying specialized medical teams to screen and monitor travelers at air and land entry points, supplying health facilities with essential cholera treatment items such as intravenous and oral rehydration solutions, antibiotics, protective equipment, and sterilization materials, and expanding the bed capacity of cholera treatment centers to accommodate the increasing number of cases.

These efforts are part of the Kingdom's ongoing humanitarian and relief initiatives, carried out through KSrelief, to support the Yemeni health sector, curb the spread of epidemics and infectious diseases, and safeguard public health.
