Riyadh: Advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, has inaugurated a series of humanitarian projects and signed multiple agreements in Damascus under the patronage of Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa. The event highlighted KSrelief's global initiatives and underscored Saudi Arabia's continued support for Syria.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed Al-Saleh, speaking on behalf of the Syrian President, expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its ongoing aid to Syria. He emphasized the cooperation between the two nations and acknowledged the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Dr. Al-Rabeeah conveyed greetings from Saudi leadership, reiterating the Kingdom's commitment to humanitarian work as part of its national identity. He highlighted KSrelief's extensive efforts, which have reached 108 countries, and noted that Syria has been a focal point of their assistance, receiving over SAR5.25 billion since KSrelief's inception.

The projects launched include the rehabilitation of bakeries across several Syrian governorates in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, benefiting over 1.4 million people. Additionally, KSrelief is rehabilitating homes and providing temporary housing in Aleppo, aiding nearly 4,600 people affected by an earthquake. Support for orphans in northwest Syria and vocational training for homemakers are also part of the new initiatives.

Medical aid forms a significant portion of the efforts, with dialysis machines and hospital equipment being supplied to various regions, benefiting millions. A healthcare center will be established in Damascus to improve access to essential services. The inauguration also introduced a humanitarian land bridge, delivering crucial supplies and equipment to support ongoing relief efforts.

Sixty-one volunteer initiatives in medical and non-medical fields are planned for 2025, with eight projects already underway. These include specialized surgeries and training programs. KSrelief has also signed nine cooperation agreements with local and international organizations to further support relief work, focusing on agriculture, water supply, education, and orphan care.

These comprehensive projects and agreements reflect Saudi Arabia's strategic approach to aid, aiming to foster long-term recovery and stability in Syria through multifaceted humanitarian efforts.
