Baidoa: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has rehabilitated the Omar bin Al-Khattab Orphan Care Center in Baidoa Governorate, South West State of the Federal Republic of Somalia. As part of this initiative, KSrelief has distributed 280 school bags and 280 school uniforms to 280 children. This effort is part of a broader project focused on restoring and supporting orphan care centers and enhancing the economic empowerment of their families in Somalia.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the project involves the rehabilitation and equipping of orphan care centers, preparation of classrooms, and provision of essential school supplies. Additionally, it offers training in sewing skills to breadwinner mothers of orphan families, along with providing sewing machines. This initiative aims to contribute to the economic empowerment of these families. The project is designed to benefit 905 children across four orphan care centers and 200 breadwinner mothers in South West State and Galmudug State.
The overarching goal of this project is to improve the quality of life for orphaned children, ensure a safe environment, and empower their families to achieve social stability and self-sufficiency.
