Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's (KSrelief) Masam Project for clearing landmines in Yemen successfully removed 1,095 mines during the third week of May 2025. The operation included the clearance of 32 anti-tank mines, 7 anti-personnel mines, and 1,056 unexploded ordnances across different regions of Yemen.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this recent effort brings the total number of mines cleared in May to 4,207. Since the inception of the Masam Project, a total of 494,351 mines have been removed. These mines, which were planted indiscriminately across Yemeni territories, pose a significant danger to innocent civilians, especially children, women, and the elderly, causing widespread fear in peaceful communities.
