Damascus: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) implemented five volunteer medical projects under the Saudi Amal Volunteer Program in Damascus, Syria, from October 24 to November 1, 2025. These projects focused on cardiac and catheterization specialties, orthopedic and joint surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, pediatric surgery, and the Saudi Noor Project aimed at combating blindness and related diseases. Sixty-seven volunteers from various medical fields participated in this initiative.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during the campaign, the KSrelief volunteer medical team examined 5,300 individuals, distributed 710 prescription glasses, and performed 473 eye surgeries. Additionally, they completed 106 pediatric surgeries, 117 plastic and reconstructive surgeries, 63 orthopedic and joint surgeries, 51 open-heart surgeries, and 54 therapeutic catheterizations. All medical procedures were successfully conducted during the program.
This initiative is part of the medical volunteer programs and projects provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief, designed to aid the needy and affected segments of the Syrian population.
