Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a project to empower internally displaced persons and youth through vocational training and livelihood support in the Republic of Cameroon, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The initiative responds to the outcomes of the Donors' Conference to Support Displaced People and Refugees in the Sahel and Lake Chad Region, held in Jeddah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the project aims to enhance community resilience and stability by empowering vulnerable groups, particularly displaced youth and women in Cameroon. This will be achieved through vocational and craft training, the provision of essential tools to start small businesses, and training in financial skills, marketing, and entrepreneurship. The project also includes business incubation services and grants for startup project groups. It will directly benefit 350 individuals and indirectly benefit 2,100 individuals.
This initiative falls within the humanitarian and relief projects and programs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief to support vulnerable groups and improve their living conditions in the Republic of Cameroon.
