Aden: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday participated in a strategic dialogue conference aimed at supporting Yemen's health sector. The event was held in Aden and organized by the Yemeni Ministry of Public Health and Population, in collaboration with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. The conference witnessed the participation of major international donors, UN agencies, and various health and development organizations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Director of KSrelief's branch in Aden, Saleh Al-Theebani, addressed the attendees, highlighting the significant health programs and projects that KSrelief has implemented in Yemen. He emphasized the humanitarian impact these initiatives have had in strengthening the capacity of government hospitals and improving healthcare services across the region.
The conference discussions centered on establishing national priorities in the context of Yemen's current health situation, exploring future funding trends, and devising mechanisms to align humanitarian and development efforts. Participants reviewed a roadmap to develop a comprehensive long-term health strategy over the coming months.
The conference's final statement underscored the necessity to enhance the efficiency and coordination of international support through the newly formed International Group for Coordination and Support of the Health Sector in Yemen. Additionally, participants stressed the importance of boosting resilience in the face of funding reductions and operational challenges, while ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare services for vulnerable populations.
