The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Friday inaugurated several health and environmental projects in the Federal Republic of Somalia. The inauguration was attended by KSrelief Medical and Environmental Aid Department Director Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Muallem, Saudi Ambassador to Somalia Ahmed Al-Mawlid, Somali Minister of Health Dr. Ali Haji Adam Abubakar, and several other officials., The National Blood Bank, the first of its kind in Somalia, was inaugurated in Mogadishu, supplying 32 health facilities with blood of all types. The second phase of the project, which is to operate the kidney dialysis center in Mogadishu, also was inaugurated. An artesian well and a water desalination plant were constructed. The assistance comes within the framework of a series of humanitarian and relief projects provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, to support the affected and needy people in Somalia and improve health services.
