Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) held a briefing session on Sunday at its headquarters in Riyadh regarding the 2026 Global Humanitarian Overview. The session was organized in cooperation with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). It included participation by senior officials from the Center, as well as directors of relevant departments, a United Nations delegation, and representatives from Saudi government agencies and non-profit organizations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the session discussed the mechanism for preparing the 2026 Global Humanitarian Overview and highlighted its key differences from previous years. It also addressed the justifications for reducing objectives and resources, as well as the responsibilities of humanitarian actors, particularly in priority crises such as Yemen, Sudan, Gaza, Syria, and Afghanistan. This aims to strengthen focus on critical priorities, enhance the efficiency of humanitarian responses, support localization efforts, and promote work based on humanitarian principles.
This session is part of ongoing cooperation between the KSrelief and OCHA, contributing to enhanced coordination and the development of humanitarian and relief mechanisms at the international level.
