General

Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has entered into a partnership with a civil society organization to enhance the wheat production chain in Aleppo's eastern countryside. The agreement, signed in Damascus, is part of a broader initiative to strengthen food security and agricultural livelihoods in the region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz formalized the agreement, which will focus on the rehabilitation of critical agricultural infrastructure, such as irrigation and drainage systems. The project aims to enhance the availability of high-quality Syrian wheat seeds and extend essential technical support for agricultural extension and mechanization.

The initiative will cover an area of 2,750 hectares and is expected to benefit around 16,500 individuals across 2,750 families. By supporting small farmers, the program seeks to boost local reliance on agricultural resources and foster self-sufficiency.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of KSrelief, alongside Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed Al-Saleh. This initiative is a segment of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts through KSrelief to support essential sectors in Syria.
