Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed a joint cooperation agreement with the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO) to enhance access to sanitation facilities in displaced camps across Somalia. This initiative targets the regions of Juba, Bay, Banaadir, Mudug, and Bari and aims to directly benefit 20,070 individuals, with an additional 5,930 individuals benefiting indirectly. The signing took place during the Fourth Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement was signed by Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor to the Royal Court and KSrelief Supervisor General, and Abdullah Al-Muhaidli, Secretary-General of ARCO. This collaborative effort focuses on constructing sanitation facilities, including toilets, in designated areas to promote better health and hygiene practices among displaced communities.
The project aligns with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing initiatives, led by KSrelief, to improve water and environmental sanitation in Somali displaced camps. By addressing sanitation needs, the project aims to foster socio-economic development and improve living conditions for displaced individuals in the region.
