The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) graduated today the first cohort of students from Abjad Center for Teaching Arabic Language, comprising 132 students from 34 countries. Academy Secretary General Dr. Abdullah Al-Washmi highlighted the goals of the Human Capacity Development Program, a key component of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. He pointed out that Abjad Center follows various educational programs offered by KSGAAL to teach Arabic to non-native speakers utilizing innovative teaching methods in a culturally immersive setting. The students completed four educational levels corresponding to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1, A2, B1, and B2. Each level lasted for two months and consisted of 160 instructional hours, an average of 20 hours per week. Al-Washmi said that Abjad Center provides a unique linguistic experience, due to which it attracted over 16,000 applicants for the first course. Of these, 132 were accepted. He added that the selection proc ess ensures the delivery of high-quality education and a comprehensive cultural experience. The academy aimed to equip the first cohort of graduates with four key competencies: Arabic language skills that meet program objectives, utilizing written and spoken Arabic in linguistic tasks, engaging socially and linguistically in diverse Arabic contexts, and identifying key aspects of both Arabic and Saudi cultures. The Abjad Center supports the Kingdom's efforts to promote the Arabic language globally. It offers distinguished education that integrates language learning with cultural immersion in an appealing educational environment, and helps students integrate in the Saudi society.
