Riyadh: The Ministry of Interior, through the General Directorate of Civil Defense and in collaboration with the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers (ISFFR), is actively preparing to host the World Championship in Fire and Rescue Sport 2025 in the Kingdom. The event is scheduled to take place from October 26 to November 1.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the championship will see participation from 22 countries, with over 300 competitors expected to attend. This event further enhances the Kingdom's reputation as a host of major international sporting events.

Lt. Col. Mohammad Al-Hammadi, the Official Spokesman for the General Directorate of Civil Defense, stated that preparations began after the Kingdom received the championship banner last November. A higher committee has been formed to oversee the hosting process, led by the General Directorate of Civil Defense, and includes representatives from various government entities. Additionally, several executive committees have been set up within the directorate, each with specific roles and responsibilities.

Al-Hammadi also mentioned that coordination with the ISFFR is ongoing to finalize the competition schedule and related committee meetings. The championship's program will feature visits by participating teams and delegations to historical, cultural, and entertainment sites in Riyadh. This reflects the cultural aspect of the championship and aims to strengthen ties between the participants and the Kingdom's rich cultural heritage.
