King Salman Chairs Cabinet Session Focused on Strengthening International Relations and Enhancing National Development

Riyadh: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud presided over the Cabinet session held in Riyadh today, emphasizing international cooperation and national progress.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Cabinet affirmed the significance of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's recent visit to the United States, highlighting its aim to reinforce bilateral relations and strategic partnerships between Saudi Arabia and the United States. The visit is viewed as a step towards realizing a shared vision for a secure and stable Middle East.

The Cabinet assessed recent diplomatic engagements with nations worldwide, including two messages received by the Crown Prince from President Lee Jae-myung of South Korea and President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran. Additionally, the Cabinet reiterated Saudi Arabia's commitment to collective security efforts during the 42nd GCC Interior Ministers meeting, focusing on integrated actions to address regional security challenges.

In a statement released post-session, Minister of State, Cabinet Member for Shura Council Affairs, and Acting Minister of Media Issam bin Saad bin Saeed highlighted the Cabinet's endorsement of the Riyadh Declaration from the UN Tourism Organization General Assembly. This declaration is recognized as a strategic guide for a sustainable tourism future, contributing significantly to national growth.

The Cabinet expressed appreciation for the upcoming fourth Global AI Summit in 2026, under the patronage of the Crown Prince, aligning with the Kingdom's vision for innovation-led economic development. The Digital Government Forum in Riyadh was commended for showcasing advancements in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, indicative of enhanced services for citizens and visitors.

Progress in local military content development was lauded, with a localization rate target of 24.89% by 2024, aiming for over 50% by 2030. The session concluded with the Cabinet issuing several decisions, including guidelines for international cooperation and memorandums of understanding across various sectors such as development, political consultations, Islamic affairs, and youth development.

These decisions reflect Saudi Arabia's strategic focus on fostering international partnerships and enhancing national capabilities through collaborative efforts in education, vocational training, and regulatory cooperation.
