Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh said: "We are proud in Jordan that the position of all of us, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and the sons and daughters of the Jordanian people, is at the vanguard of the world in supporting the Palestinian brothers in the face of the brutal Israeli aggression that has exceeded All human, moral and legal values." Khasawneh said in a speech during the emergency session held by the House of Representatives on Wednesday regarding the Israeli war in Gaza: "The heinous Baptist Hospital massacre is a shame for everyone who has an ounce of humanity and conscience." He added that preserving and strengthening Jordan's domestic resilience would enable Jordan to support the Palestinians and bolster their steadfastness until they realise their legitimate rights and establish an independent Palestinian state. "The echo of the pain of the brothers and families in Palestine, their wounds, and their martyrs all reverberates in the souls and consciences of all Jordanians and every Jordanian home," Khasawneh said, adding, "We are the closest to Palestine and will remain so - as His Majesty the King has always affirmed - and we will not accept anything less than an end to the [Israeli] attacks and hold those who committed these attacks accountable." Khasawneh added: "They are delusional those who would think that yesterday's massacre and others, the siege and the denial of food and medicine to the brotherly Palestinian people and the killing of civilians, including children, women and the elderly - despite its cruelty, its lack of the lowest human and moral values, and its violation of international and humanitarian law - can break the will and steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people to achieve their full legitimate national rights." "We will not allow - and we will stand against - attempts to displace the brotherly Palestinian people from their land. We will stand with all strength and steadfastness in the face of these attempts and scenarios," Khasawneh said. He said Jordan is committed to the historical Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem. He said, "The military field hospital operated by the crews of our valiant Jordanian Armed Forces/Arab Army in Gaza continues its honourable duty in healing the brothers' wounds there and will continue to provide these services." The Prime Minister noted that Jordan would provide Palestinian Gazans with an air bridge for food, medicine, and humanitarian needs "as soon as possible."
