KFSHRC Madinah Wins Council of Health Insurance Excellence Award for Medical Coding and Billing

Madinah: King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Madinah has been awarded the 2025 Council of Health Insurance (CHI) Excellence Award in the category of "Excellence in Medical Coding and Billing - Medical Providers Track," recognizing its role in developing an integrated operational model that combines documentation accuracy and expedited insurance processes. This approach contributes to reducing the administrative burden on patients, accelerating claim approvals, and ultimately enhancing patient experience and partner confidence.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the award was received by General Manager of KFSHRC Madinah Dr. Emad bin Mohammed Khadawardi during the third edition of the Council of Health Insurance Excellence Forum, held in Riyadh under the patronage of Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel, and in the presence of KFSHRC CEO Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh, alongside a distinguished gathering of local and international experts, professionals, and decision-makers.

This achievement reflects KFSHRC's commitment to applying strict medical coding standards, adopting advanced billing and analytical technologies, and launching specialized training programs that have enhanced the competencies of both clinical and administrative teams and strengthened coordination to ensure full compliance and data accuracy.

The CHI Excellence Award honors healthcare institutions that contribute to advancing healthcare quality in the Kingdom by adopting efficiency- and quality-based care models, leveraging digital innovations to improve patient outcomes, and fostering a culture of innovation across the healthcare sector.

The release also highlighted that KFSHRC in Madinah, with a 400-bed capacity, provides services across multiple specialties, including pediatric and adult oncology, ophthalmology, and obstetrics and gynecology. The hospital has also earned 14 accreditations for specialized training programs in medical and nursing fields.
