Riyadh:The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH) has joined the annual National Blood Donation Campaign launched by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This initiative aims to promote blood donation and ensure patients have access to necessary blood supplies.
According to Saudi Press Agency, KFSH's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh, along with other hospital leaders, participated by donating blood to support the campaign. As part of its involvement, KFSH has expanded its community outreach by collaborating with various organizations to bring mobile blood donation units to workplaces. Additionally, blood donations can be made at KFSH blood banks and the King Fahad National Center for Children's Cancer, making it easier for people to donate.
A consistent blood supply is vital for numerous medical and surgical procedures. This is especially true at KFSH, where there is a high demand due to the complex care provided to patients undergoing cancer treatment, organ transplants, and major surgeries. Regular blood donations are crucial to ensure these patients receive timely and uninterrupted care.
KFSH encourages community members to participate in the campaign by donating at its blood banks. Donations can be made from Sunday to Thursday, between 7:30 am and 10:00 pm in Riyadh, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in Jeddah, and from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm in Madinah.
KFSH has been recognized as a leading institution, ranking first in the Middle East and Africa and 12th globally among the world's top 250 academic medical centers for 2026. It has also been acknowledged as the most valuable healthcare brand in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East for 2026 by Brand Finance and listed by Newsweek among the World's Best Hospitals, World's Best Smart Hospitals, and World's Best Specialized Hospitals for 2026.
