Riyadh: King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) celebrated the graduation of 290 students from KAUST Academy's Specializations Program, an initiative to develop Saudi talent in scientific and technological fields of national priority. According to Saudi Press Agency, the program spans five core specializations: artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, cybersecurity, renewable energy, and water sustainability. Together, these tracks build national expertise and prepare a new generation of specialists to support future industries and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The program drew strong interest across the Kingdom, attracting 23,995 applicants. Of these, 5,065 progressed to the placement test, 2,473 enrolled in the Introduction Course, and 1,176 qualified for the Advanced Course. In total, 290 students completed the final Summer Program. Structured in four stages, the program combined online learning with intensive in-person training, culminating in an eight-week Summer Program. In this final stage, students engaged directly with leading experts, academics, and specialists from Saudi Arabia and abroad. The program is part of KAUST's broader effort to connect talented Saudis with advanced scientific knowledge and technology, amid growing national demand for skills in AI, cybersecurity, renewable energy, water, and biotechnology. The graduation ceremony brought together KAUST leaders, representatives of government entities and Saudi universities, academic and strategic partners from the Kingdom and abroad, and international scientific and research institutions. The Specializations Program reflects KAUST's broader commitment to human capability development in the Kingdom. By investing in Saudi talent, the university is preparing a new generation of professionals to apply science, technology, and innovation toward advancing the Kingdom's knowledge-based economy.
