Jordan’s exports to EU nations up last January, February 2023-DoS

Value of Jordanian exports to European Union countries increased during January-February period of 2023, by 108.5% to reach about JD62 million, compared to about JD30 million for the same period last year. According to foreign trade data issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS), the Kingdom’s imports from the EU nations increased during the first two months of 2023 by 14.9% to reach JD476 million, compared to JD414 million for the same period in 2022. Meanwhile, volume of trade exchange between Jordan and EU countries during the last two months of January and February 2023 amounted to about JD538 million, compared to JD444 million for the same period last year, DoS statistics showed. The Kingdom’s trade balance deficit with the European Union countries during the first two months of 2023 amounted to about JD414 million, compared to about JD384 million for the same period last year, the DoS figures revealed. The Netherlands was the top importer of Jordanian products in the first two months of 2023, at a value of about JD16 million, meanwhile Germany was the top exporter to Jordan, as value of the Kingdom’s imports from this EU nation stood at approximately JD104 million.
