Jordanian Foreign Minister Discusses with UNGA President Palestinian Cause, Syrian Crisis

Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi met with President of the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Csaba Korosi, who is currently visiting Jordan for talks over regional developments, chief of which are the Palestinian cause and efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis.

Safadi briefed Korosi on the obstacles and challenges hindering the re-launch of serious and effective negotiations to achieve a just and lasting peace to the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.

The Jordanian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of concerted efforts to stop the situation from deteriorating in the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to the importance of re-launching effective and productive negotiations that restore confidence in the feasibility of the political process and putting the region on the path of a just peace, of which the two-state solution is the only way.

Safadi and Korosi stressed the importance of cooperation between the Kingdom and the UN’s institutions in many developmental and humanitarian domains, particularly the efforts to provide a decent life for refugees.
