Joint Statement by Arab League and OIC Member States at Multilateral Summit with US President

New york: A multilateral summit involving the leaders of the United States and eight Arab states, along with members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), took place at the United Nations Headquarters. This gathering coincided with the High-Level Week of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting was initiated by US President Donald J. Trump, co-hosted by the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and attended by Jordan's King Abdullah II, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto, Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Kamal Madbouly, UAE's Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.

During the summit, the leaders expressed their gratitude to President Trump for organizing the meeting, emphasizing the dire situation in Gaza, including the humanitarian crisis and its regional impact. They collectively opposed forced displacement and highlighted the necessity for the return of displaced individuals.

The leaders called for an end to the ongoing conflict, urging an immediate ceasefire to facilitate the release of hostages and the entry of humanitarian aid as initial steps toward peace. They committed to collaborating with President Trump, emphasizing his role in leading efforts toward peace.

The summit highlighted the importance of developing a stabilization plan while maintaining stability in the West Bank and Jerusalem's holy sites. Support for Palestinian Authority reform efforts was also emphasized.

Leaders advocated for a comprehensive reconstruction plan for Gaza, based on Arab and OIC proposals, with international assistance to support Palestinian leadership. They pledged to work together for the success of these plans and the rebuilding of Palestinian lives in Gaza.

Participants underscored the need to maintain momentum, ensuring this meeting marks the beginning of a path toward peace and regional cooperation.
