Jeddah: The Tour Guides Cooperative Society in Jeddah, in collaboration with the Saudi Association for Hearing Impairment, has launched a specialized training and field program. Supported by the Ministry of Culture, through the Jeddah Historic District Program and the Red Sea Museum, this initiative aims to equip tourist guides with essential communication skills to effectively interact with individuals with hearing disabilities. The goal is to enhance access to cultural and historical experiences for all community members. According to Saudi Press Agency, the program took place in the Jeddah Historic District and included licensed tourist guides and several people with hearing disabilities. This effort is part of a broader initiative to develop the tourism guiding profession and enhance the quality of services offered to visitors. The program aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives, which focus on improving the quality of life and promoting inclusive access to tourist destinations.
