Riyadh: Attention is turning to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, where the first round of the Saudi Toyota Time Attack Championship 2026 runs from August 27 to 29, under the supervision of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), the championship's owner, and managed by Bakhashab Motorsport in partnership with Jameel Motorsport, the championship's official partner. According to Saudi Press Agency, the season consists of three rounds, all held at Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The second round will take place from September 3 to 4, while the third and final round will be held from October 15 to 16. Strong competition is expected throughout, given the challenging nature of the race. Time Attack is an individual race in which each competitor seeks the fastest possible lap while adhering to the prescribed racing line and safety rules. The competition rewards driving skill and precise control, with rankings and winners determined by recorded times rather than starting positions or overtaking. The first roun d's program spans three days. It begins on August 27 with administrative checks and technical inspections, followed by a mandatory drivers' briefing and free practice sessions on the second day, one for each category. The round concludes on August 29 with the first and second races and the podium ceremony. The championship forms part of SAMF's efforts to develop the local championship ecosystem, providing drivers a structured competitive environment to demonstrate their abilities and hone their skills, identifying and encouraging national talent to pursue careers in motorsports, and expanding participation in the sport across Saudi Arabia.
