Dammam: The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) announced the addition of CMA CGM’s Jebel Ali Middle East Express 2 (JMX2) shipping service to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. It will enhance the competitiveness of Saudi ports on the global maritime transport map, support the smooth flow of international trade, and increase operational efficiency.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the new service connects King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, Shuaiba Port in Kuwait, and Khalifa Bin Salman Port in Bahrain, with a capacity of up to 1,500 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
The step comes as part of Mawani’s ongoing efforts to improve the Kingdom’s ranking in global performance indicators and enhance the efficiency of operational processes at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, thereby supporting national exports and aligning with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to reinforce the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub and a vital link between continents.
King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam plays a crucial role in connecting the Kingdom to the global economy. It features advanced infrastructure and integrated logistics facilities that attract major international companies. It includes 43 fully equipped berths and has a handling capacity of up to 105 million tons of cargo and containers.
