JCC seeks to increase Jordan-Kuwait trade exchange-Haj Tawfiq

Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Khalil Haj Tawfiq, on Wednesday discussed with Chargé d’Affaires of Kuwaiti Embassy to Jordan, Mubarak Hajri, ways to increase the two countries’ trade exchange. During the meeting, Haj Tawfiq said the JCC will soon organize a visit of Jordanian economic and commercial delegations to Kuwait to increase trade exchanges and invest in the the two countries’ available opportunities. He also pointed to importance of enhancing the two countries’ businesspeopl’se contacts by holding exhibitions and exchanging trade delegations’ visits. He said Jordan-Kuwait trade exchange figures are “still below the level of ambition and fail to reflect strength of their bilateral political relations.” He called on building joint economic integration and strengthening the two countries’ trade and investment relations, in light of their “historic” relations. JCC, he noted, is working according to a “new” approach to build strong economic relations with various countries across the world, especially Arab nations, by offering initiatives to enhance national economy. To date,he said value of Kuwaiti investments in Jordan are the highest among their Arab counterparts, which cover various sectors, and contribute to supporting the Kingdom’s economic growth and providing job opportunities for Jordanians. Haj Tawfiq affirmed the JCC’s readiness to provide any information for Kuwaiti side about Jordanian companies and products, which would contribute to strengthening joint economic and investment relations. Locally, he said Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision (EMV), implemented under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s directives, set a pathway for the national economy during the next decade. He expressed the JCC’s readiness to provide information to Kuwaiti investors and solve any problems facing their businesses.
