Hajri said cooperation ties between Kuwaiti-Jordanian commerce chambers reflect “deep-rooted” bilateral relations. The diplomat said Kuwaiti-Jordanian relations are framed by 73 agreements in various fields, but their trade exchange needs further attention to strengthen inter-Arab relations, especially that Jordan possesses elements to promote economic cooperation to “broader” levels. As for Kuwaiti investments in Jordan, he said their volume is estimated at about $20 billion and launched by 360 Kuwaiti companies registered in Jordan, adding that investments are expected to rise to about $22 billion in the Kingdom. He also referred to “remarkable” opportunities to increase Jordanian exports to Kuwait, especially in the field of livestock, vegetables, garments, chemicals, paper products, information technology and construction. “Jordan’s investment climate stimulates Kuwaiti businesspeople and investors to increase their investments in the Kingdom,” he noted, stressing importance of marketing and promoting investor opportunities and available tourism benefits in all its types. Noting forms of Kuwait’s support Jordan, he said his country’s official assistance come through Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), which has so far funded 32 projects in the Kingdom, with a total value of about $1.7 billion. Hajri added that Kuwaiti civil sector continues to provide humanitarian assistance to Jordan’s underprivileged groups and to Palestinian and Syrians in the Kingdom. Hajri expressed Kuwaiti embassy’s willingness to facilitate visits of the two countries’ economic delegations and businesspeople to increase joint economic cooperation relations to reflect level of their political relations.
