Tokyo: The Japanese stock index (Nikkei) closed higher today as investors anticipated the potential postponement of tariffs pledged by US President Donald Trump.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Nikkei index rose by 0.32%, reaching 39,027.98 points, while the broader TOPIX index closed flat at 2,713.5 points.
