AMMAN: Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry president Fathi Jaghbir Saturday urged closer cooperation between the tourism and food industry sectors, as mainstays of the national economy. Jaghbir said during a meeting with Jordan Tourism Board Director General Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat on turning the Kingdom into a regional food industry hub that Jordanian food industry made its mark, not only in traditional markets, but in the US and European markets as well, the Amman chamber said in a statement. Arabiyat spoke of the need to link the national tourism identity with the food industry and restaurants, through incorporating the Jordanian food product into tourism promotion programs abroad, so that Jordanian food becomes an attraction for Arab and foreign visitors. It was agreed to to launch a joint promotion campaign in cooperation with the Jordan Restaurant Association. Source: Jordan News Agency
